Through our parents and their parents before them but not the ones before them we have learned that we need and must have the biggest and best things. We need to have the biggest house. We need to have the nicest car on the block and at work. We need to have the most expensive clothes and jewelry. With those things and with that kind of mindset we can judge others that are not in our class, that do not have the things that we have. Where did all this come from? From messages and subliminal messages telling us that we need to buy and have these things to be happy. That you must have a house with a two car garage and white picket fence and two cars to go in the garage. What does everyone do? They do everything in their power to go and get those things. With $35,000 to $500,000 school loans, two to three jobs, taking out a 2nd mortgage, getting more loans, getting more credit cards. Why?, why do we do these things? Why do we need those things to be happy? To feel self-worth? To feel successful? That we accomplished our goals? Are we/you That we accomplished our goals? Are we/you happy now? 
Have you heard of living tiny or small? Tiny houses? People are now and have been for a little while now have been moving out of there 2500 to 5000 square foot homes and moving into tiny houses of 100 sq ft to 1000 sq ft. The houses usually cost around $35,000 to build but range between a few thousand and $100,000 depending on the sq ft, age of the tiny house and how nice you want it to be inside. Think about your living conditions how big is your house? How much are you paying each month and how much goes to interest that is not coming off the house. Think of not having a monthly house payment or a very very small monthly payment if you 
chose a more expensive, bigger tiny house.
Why do you buy things that are 10 times the price they should be. Women buying $300 leggings when the $20 pair looks just as good. Or shoes that cost over $500 and even in the thousands! Why? Why do you buy them? So you can feel good and confident? So you can feel special? So you can show off to your friends? Guys buying $100 $200 dollar shirts that are usually pretty awful or $300 jeans? $20 to $75 jeans are just as good or better. Why do we have to go into debt or just waste money just to feel special or to show off to our friends or co workers or other reasons?
Sometimes having 2 cars is needed. You both have to get to work in the opposite direction, you like driving your own car. You both need to work to pay for the big house, 
a the two the expensive lifestyle and cars. I agree a nice car is a nice reward for hard work. If you can afford it. Just ask yourself if its needed, can you be happy with something less expensive but still nice.
Magazines, TV commercials, radio commercials, celebrity endorsements, those around us all telling us that we need and must have the biggest and the best.
But do we really? Where can you slim down? What can you do without? Where can you save money for more important things.
Are you AWAKE! WAKE UP! It is a wonderful feeling to be awake to have burst out of the bubble that society, government and religion have you trapped in to do what they want, to do it how they want it, to buy what they want to vote and think how they want you.
